Rewiring older Melbourne homes
Melbourne has a huge stock of older homes: Victorian and Edwardian terraces, Californian bungalows, post-war brick veneers and 1960s and 70s family homes. Many still have original wiring that was never designed for today’s appliances. EV chargers at home
A dedicated wall charger is far faster than charging an electric car from a standard power point, and it does not run an ordinary circuit flat out for hours. Before we install one, we check your switchboard, your main supply and the distance to where the car parks, and we can set the charger up to run from your solar during the day. Most homes can take a 7 kW single phase charger once the board is checked.
What happens on the day
We call ahead with an arrival time, wear shoe covers inside and lay drop sheets where we work. Before switching anything off, we tell you which circuits will be down and for how long, so you can save your work and keep the fridge closed. When the job is finished, we test everything, walk you through what we did and leave the area clean. The certificate for the work follows, and any questions afterwards go straight to the team who did the job.
