As a qualified electrician with Electrical Powerhaus, you will attend scheduled and reactive jobs across Melbourne. You will diagnose faults, recommend practical solutions, complete compliant electrical work and leave each customer with a clear understanding of what was done.

The position combines hands-on electrical work with customer service, accurate job documentation and day-to-day responsibility for the safe delivery of each job.

No two days are exactly the same. One job may involve tracing an intermittent fault in an older Melbourne home; the next may be a switchboard upgrade, commercial maintenance call, appliance connection or urgent power outage.

What you will be doing

• Complete residential and commercial electrical service, maintenance, repair and installation work across Melbourne.
• Diagnose electrical faults, power outages, nuisance tripping, damaged wiring and equipment failures using safe, methodical fault-finding practices.
• Install, repair and upgrade switchboards, safety switches, circuit breakers, lighting, power points, switches, smoke alarms, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, ovens and other fixed electrical equipment.
• Carry out electrical safety inspections, testing and verification.
• Complete Certificates of Electrical Safety and required job records accurately.
• Attend urgent and emergency electrical jobs as part of an agreed roster where required.
• Explain faults, available options and completed work to customers in plain language.
• Provide clear site notes, photos, material records and recommendations through the company’s job-management process.
• Plan materials and maintain an organised vehicle, work area and tool kit.
• Follow safe-isolation requirements, SWMS, Victorian electrical regulations and relevant Australian Standards.
• Support apprentices or less-experienced team members when required, while maintaining appropriate supervision and quality control.
• Represent Electrical Powerhaus professionally by arriving prepared, communicating early and leaving every site clean and tidy.

What we are looking for

Essential licences and qualifications

• A current, unrestricted Victorian Electrician’s Licence (A Grade) issued by Energy Safe Victoria.
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, or an accepted equivalent qualification.
• A current Australian driver’s licence and safe driving record.
• A valid Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Current CPR and low-voltage rescue training.
• The legal right to work in Australia.
